Relfecting

I spent a little time over the last two days deleting old images from my Elfwood gallery. Not easy. A mix of stubbornness and recent nostalgia made saying "good-bye" to some pieces really hard to do. So many of them were milestones in my own development. Some remind me of what was happening in my life when I created them. Artist Stephanie Piu-Min Law mentioned in a recent post at the Epilogue forums that art directors will occasionally land on her Elfwood site when using a search engine. I've always been aware of this, having searched my name a few times, but I think it's time to really get a handle on what's out there with my name attached to it.

As a start, I'll be experimenting with new tags on my work.

Oh, yes. I deleted mine a while ago. For a while it still showed up on a google search, but clicking on it wouldn't get you anywhere. Now it won't even show up in a google search anymore. Aw, elfwood!

I didn't know you'd deleted yours! It was hard to take down the "Elfan Scribe" piece. Do you remember that? Wasn't there was someone named Eleanor in England? And Bjørn? Thinking back, a lot of that work got me through some pretty unhappy times. So, thanks again for "being there", Gaby.

I don't know if I'll ever delete my gallery completely. (Just got another Mod's Choice yesterday!) I'm feeling ready to do some serious professional work on a regular basis, and to self-publish an art book like the ones that inspired me when I was much younger. The more perverse or adult-oriented pieces should go as well. They've been up long enough.

You seem to be enjoying a bit of success here at DA! I love seeing that.

Yes, I do remember Eleanor from England! She has a dA account, but I don't think she's touched it in years... I saved the Lothometry picture you did on my computer; it's survived my computer drama over the past few months. I do remember "Elfan Scribe"! :aww:

I know you were feeling frustrated professionally recently. It's understandable. However, at least you are one of those lucky individuals who is doing art professionally! Like, for money! I'm envious, maybe. ;) I'm glad your work continues to be appreciated at Elfwood, too.
